Woo Hoo! Picnic on the floor!

Project 365, day 25 (6/29/09)

I went to a friend's house for about 20 minutes tonight (around 6pm) and came home to this...lol

Project 365, day 24 (6/28/09)

Project 365, day 23 (6/27/09)

How many husbands would do this for their wives?!?

And just for fun, here's me, waiting for the color to set in...lovely isn't it?!

Project 365, day 22 (6/26/09)

Cameron and Carson weren't feeling well this day...both sort of lethargic...but I thought it was cute they way they were curled up on the couch with their blankies...(on a side note, they're both feeling much better now)

Project 365, day 21 (6/25/09)

Okay so I'm a little behind, but rest assured, I have taken a picture every day...so let's play catch-up.....
Speaking of catch-up, that's what I had to do with this pile of laundry - seven loads to be exact! Oy! Four kids make a lot of laundry for one mommy!

Project 365, day 18 (6/22/09)

Well, today is my 30th birthday and I cried most of the day! Not really sure why, and I felt totally dumb, but I just couldn't hold back the tears, it was weird. So, to make myself feel better, I spoiled myself with a gift that I've been wanting for 12 years - a second tattoo! It is a design that my girlfriend, Leslie and I conjured up almost two years ago and I've been carrying it around in my purse since then! It is on the outside of my lower calf - not quite at my ankle. The design is mine, Scott's and all four kids' astrological symbols kind of meshed together, plus the letter 'V' (for obvious reasons)...It turned out perfectly and I am SO pleased! Bring on my 30's baby!!

Project 365, day 17 (6/21/09)

I took Kait to Chehalis yesterday so my friend could pick her up and take her back to Oregon for a visit and I took Cameron with me so that I could have some company on the way home...so much for that idea!

Project 365, day 16 (6/20/09)

Carson eating at the table like a big boy!

Project 365, day 15 (6/19/09)

CJ had a busy day with no nap and crashed here in the chair at 5:30!

Project 365, day 13 (6/17/09)

I'm not feeling very creative these days...in case you haven't noticed...so here's today's picture...CJ thought he was so funny peeking thru the mesh sides of Carson's pack-n-play!

Project 365, day 12 (6/16/09)

This is what Monkey was doing at 8:30 last night when he should have been asleep...(we had him in the pack-n-play because Kait was having a sleepover, so Carson needed to sleep in our room - long story short, the bedrooms in our new apartment are very small so Carson and Kait have to share, rather than all three boys sharing - don't worry, Kait loves it! lol)

Anyway, here's my little naughty boy...why do they always look the cutest when they're in trouble?!

Project 365, day 11 (6/15/09)

Ok I'm a total slacker, I forgot to take a picture today, so I ran in and snapped one of Cameron asleep! ;) Who can resist a sleeping kid?! Cutest thing ever! G'nite, Bubba!

Project 365, day 10 (6/14/09)

I asked Kaitlyn if I could take a few pictures of her, since she hadn't been the subject of my 365 project yet, and this was the first shot...after this, I got nothin but attitude - because I tried pulling her hair back...ah, the life of a preteen girl!

Project 365, day 9 (6/13/09)

So we're trying something new, where Cameron has to eat three bites of a vegetable with lunch and with dinner...he gets to choose which veggie he wants to try and tonight's choice was iceburg lettuce...and guess what?! He asked for seconds AND thirds! :) That's my boy!

Project 365, day 8 (6/12/09)

Ahhh, Spongebob....(notice that the dog is even enamored with Squidward and Mr. Krabs!)

Project 365, day 7 (6/11/09)

Cameron borrowed a bike from his friend yesterday and was SO proud when he was (almost) able to ride it all the way around that playground with no help. His problem is that he, kind of randomly, slams his feet backwards on the pedals - which obviously applies the brakes...then he has a hard time getting started again. Bikes for the kids haven't really been within our budget in recent years, but it's definitely time to make that investment. Cameron had a blast yesterday - as did Colton - he can't quite reach the pedals, but he thinks he's riding when I push him around the playground (helmet and all)! Anyway, here's Bubba, triumphantly making his way around the playground.

Project 365, day 6 (6/10/09)

For those that know Bubba, you know why this picture is a HUGE deal! And incindentally, he ate about 10 more after this one! Woo hoo! That's two veggies that Cameron will eat! Baby steps...and he'll be eating a salad before I know it! (corn is the other one in case you were wondering) :)

Project 365, day 5 (6/9/09)

mmmm....Corn! (I think he's storing some for winter in those cheeks!)

Project 365, day 4 (6/8/09)

Okay, so I couldn't decide which picture was more precious, so here are a couple for today's entry (I have a feeling Shorty will be prominently featured in the next few posts as we are quite enamored with him!)
Check out Carson's expression!
Cameron is SO happy!

Aw, puppy kisses!

Colton is SO petrified of Shorty! lol

Project 365, day 3 (6/7/09)

So we've been talking about getting a dog for some time now and I've been a little hesitant - (four kids AND a dog?!) so we decided that we'd do a trial run and see if this family is ready for a four-legged friend...I just happen to be very good friends with a Maltese breeder and she (bless her heart) agreed to let us borrow one for a couple weeks...He arrived about an hour ago and I thought he was the perfect subject for today's photo...meet Shorty, the not-quite-five-pound Maltese (that has stolen my heart already!)

Project 365, day 2 (6/6/09)

Ok so I tried posting this last night, but my computer hated me and I couldn't get the picture to rotate...I shut down the computer all night and when I got up this morning, it rotated just fine...dumb technology!

Anyway, here is my picture for day 2...we had leftover spaghetti for dinner last night and Colton seemed to enjoy it, don't you think?

Project 365, day 1 (6/5/09)

Just as I wrote my last post about needing to take a picture to start this project, the opportunity presented itself...Cameron comes running in my room and tells me that I won't believe what Carson has just done...in the words of my five year old, "Mom! You HAVE to come see what Monkey just did! It's the worstest mess he ever made in his whole life!"
Check out the look on Carson's face - "Dang! You caught me!"

Project 365

Ok so some of you may have heard about this, but I just recently learned what it was...basically I'm going to take at least one picture each day and post it here...now don't get too excited, I don't have great photography skills or even a super great camera; I just really enjoy taking pictures of my kids...maybe someday I learn how to use a "real" camera...for now, I'll be using my trusty Canon Powershot A590IS.
I haven't taken any yet today, so I'm off to point and shoot! Wish me luck!

First Blog Ever!

Hi all! This is my very first blog about our awesome family of 6 (aka: Team Varner)...I'm not a great writer and I'm not a great photographer, but I'll try to update everyone as often as possible when something new is going on with us and when I take snapshots of the kids.

We've been in our new home (Monroe, WA) for almost a month now and we're settling in nicely. Our apartment is a bit small for us, but we're adjusting and we know it's just temporary.

Kaitlyn is making new friends every day and seems to enjoy apartment life, as she has someone to play with every day! She has just a couple weeks left of school and then she'll start 6th grade this September! I can't believe I'll have a middle-schooler! She's growing so fast! She's reading new books every week and in fact, is using her allowance to buy them! That's my girl! :)
Here she is, holding a corn snake at the Reptile Museum, here in Monroe.

Cameron is excited about the new apartment also, as he has made some new friends as well. Looks like my shy little boy is coming out of his shell just in time to start Kindergarten in the fall! I was very anxious for him to start school, but the last few weeks, he has really reassured me that he'll do just fine! We're practicing writing his name each day and he's so good at it! Cameron and daddy are enjoying the nature trails near our new place...

Colton took a bit longer to adjust to the new place, but he's right at home now. We're working on some flashcards to learn colors and shapes and he LOVES to draw pictures and pretend he is a soldier like daddy...his favorite thing these days is to put on his rain boots, his pretend construction hard hat, and use his pretend drill as a gun so he can be a "joe joe" (GI JOE) lol
It's so funny, he runs around the house going, "pew! pew! pew!" (in case you didn't know, that's the sound a gun makes!) lol Here's Colton at our new favorite place, Lake Tye..."Look Dad! Ducks!"

And last but not least, my monkey, Carson...what can I say, he is growing up too fast for my liking! He is talking like crazy! Some of the words he says regularly are: "ba bob" (spongebob); "coo coos" (blue's clues); "mama"; "dada"; "bubba" (Cameron); "ya"; "ber" (bird)...
He does his best to keep up with the big boys and enjoys beating them up! I definitely don't worry about him being little anymore 'cause he can certainly hold his own! (don't let his tiny little body fool you!) lol

Nothing like a good book!

Scott and I are really enjoying Washington and have taken the kids to Washington Park Zoo, in Seattle, the Reptile Zoo, here in Monroe and are planning lots more fun things with them this summer. Scott's new job allows for lots of flexability and time at home with us, so we know it was the right choice to move up here!

This picture is from January, but it's the most recent one I have of the two of us! (I'm always behind the camera!)

I guess that's it for now...thanks for reading!
