We've been in our new home (Monroe, WA) for almost a month now and we're settling in nicely. Our apartment is a bit small for us, but we're adjusting and we know it's just temporary.
Kaitlyn is making new friends every day and seems to enjoy apartment life, as she has someone to play with every day! She has just a couple weeks left of school and then she'll start 6th grade this September! I can't believe I'll have a middle-schooler! She's growing so fast! She's reading new books every week and in fact, is using her allowance to buy them! That's my girl! :)
Here she is, holding a corn snake at the Reptile Museum, here in Monroe.

Cameron is excited about the new apartment also, as he has made some new friends as well. Looks like my shy little boy is coming out of his shell just in time to start Kindergarten in the fall! I was very anxious for him to start school, but the last few weeks, he has really reassured me that he'll do just fine! We're practicing writing his name each day and he's so good at it! Cameron and daddy are enjoying the nature trails near our new place...

Colton took a bit longer to adjust to the new place, but he's right at home now. We're working on some flashcards to learn colors and shapes and he LOVES to draw pictures and pretend he is a soldier like daddy...his favorite thing these days is to put on his rain boots, his pretend construction hard hat, and use his pretend drill as a gun so he can be a "joe joe" (GI JOE) lol
It's so funny, he runs around the house going, "pew! pew! pew!" (in case you didn't know, that's the sound a gun makes!) lol Here's Colton at our new favorite place, Lake Tye..."Look Dad! Ducks!"
And last but not least, my monkey, Carson...what can I say, he is growing up too fast for my liking! He is talking like crazy! Some of the words he says regularly are: "ba bob" (spongebob); "coo coos" (blue's clues); "mama"; "dada"; "bubba" (Cameron); "ya"; "ber" (bird)...
He does his best to keep up with the big boys and enjoys beating them up! I definitely don't worry about him being little anymore 'cause he can certainly hold his own! (don't let his tiny little body fool you!) lol
Nothing like a good book!
Scott and I are really enjoying Washington and have taken the kids to Washington Park Zoo, in Seattle, the Reptile Zoo, here in Monroe and are planning lots more fun things with them this summer. Scott's new job allows for lots of flexability and time at home with us, so we know it was the right choice to move up here!
This picture is from January, but it's the most recent one I have of the two of us! (I'm always behind the camera!)

I guess that's it for now...thanks for reading!

Good luck with your new log Nikki.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing more piccies of you and your cute little family.
what a beautiful family you have! So, were you still in Oregon until this move? Isn't it crazy how time has passed since high school - I feel perpetually 19 (though, my body and brain know I'm not somehow!) I absolutely LOVE blogs and I'm so glad to have another one to keep up with! blessings - Sasha
